We have been preparing for the arrival of this unit in our Coventry facility as this is not a typical unit we would handle on a day to day basis. The is one of our H 5001 series reducers with a torque rating of around 250,000Nm.
It weights around 6tons currently without oil and packaging, and once fully assembled as part of a combination drive unit, it will fast be approaching 10 tons. While the main drive is imported from our Italian factory, the primary drive units and design was undertaken in the UK together with the UK customer.
There will be a witness test of the unit next week so it is a busy time in our factory at the moment.
